Crafton, owners PUBG: Battlegrounds and its subsidiaries, announced this week that they have begun active development on a new title that is very different from what the company is known for. It is a game that does not have a confirmed name at the moment but is slated to be based on The bird that drinks tears, a series of Korean fantasy novels by author Young Do Lee. New information about the game has been shared to give more insight into the game’s plans and inspiration, although it’s still without details regarding the release platforms and release window.
The game itself was first announced last year, so if it sounds familiar, that’s probably why. On the recently announced site for the game that still refers to it as an unannounced project because it lacks a name, we learn more about Krafton’s vision for the game.

Artist Iain McCaig was brought in by Krafton to serve as design director working on the game. McCaig has a history with franchises like The Avengers, Harry Potter and Terminator, Krafton explained, with new artwork on the site to share a more accurate look at Krafton’s approach with this new game.
